What "Know Your Customer" means

Know Your Customer (KYC) is the standard process by which a financial service confirms that a client is a real, identifiable person, and that the information provided at registration is accurate.

In practice, KYC at Citi Australia & New Zealand Investment Conference means we collect and confirm a small set of basic facts about you: your full legal name, your date of birth, your country of residence, your contact details and the payment method you intend to use. We compare the details you typed into the sign-up form with the details shown on the documents you upload.

What we do not do

We will never request your internet banking credentials, complete card PIN, or device access permissions. Staff members will not solicit these details under any circumstances. Any request for such information does not originate from us and should be reported via our abuse reporting system.

Documents

Which documents are accepted

We ask for up to three categories of document. Files should be colour images or PDFs, fully in frame, unedited, with all four corners and all text legible.

1. Identity document

A government-issued document that shows your photograph, full name, date of birth, document number and expiry date. Commonly accepted types are a passport, a national identity card, or a driving licence where it is issued as a photographic identity document. The document must be valid and not expired.

2. Proof of address

A recent document, usually issued within the last few months, showing your name and your residential address as it appears on your account. Typical examples are a utility statement, a bank or card statement, a local tax or municipal notice, or an official letter from a public authority. Post-office boxes and addresses belonging to someone else are not accepted.

3. Proof of payment method

Proof that you own the funding source. For credit or debit cards, this typically means a photo displaying your name, first 6 digits, last 4 digits, and expiration date, with other digits and CVV obscured. For bank transfers, a bank statement or account confirmation bearing your name and account number suffices. For digital payment platforms, provide a profile screenshot containing your name and account identifier.

Formats and file size

Your account's verification section displays submission caps, supported document formats, and any supplementary documentation needed. Documents presented in a language differing from your account's language may need certified translation; our compliance department will notify you if this is required.

Timing

How long a check takes

Most complete submissions are reviewed within a few hours to a couple of business days. Files that need a second look, a translation or an additional document can take longer.

Processing duration varies based on submission volume, image quality, and whether enhanced due diligence protocols are activated. Your account dashboard displays the applicable processing timeline and each document's current progress - this stated timeframe is authoritative, superseding any other estimates.

  • Submissions of sharp, complete, unmodified documents receive expedited assessment.
  • Submissions made after business hours are processed during the subsequent business day.
  • Enhanced review, where required, adds time and is communicated to you.

What "anti-money laundering" means

Anti-money laundering (AML) is the set of internal controls a financial service uses to prevent its platform from being used to move the proceeds of crime, to finance illegal activity, or to disguise the true origin of funds.

AML controls are broader than a one-off identity check. They cover risk classification of new accounts, sanctions and politically-exposed-person screening, limits on unusual funding patterns, record keeping, internal escalation of suspicious activity and, where the applicable law requires it, reporting to the competent authority.

Where AML rules and a client instruction conflict, the AML rules take priority. That can mean a delayed transaction, a request for additional documents, or a restricted account until the matter is resolved.

Process

The verification steps

  1. 01

    Register

Create the account with your real legal name, date of birth, country of residence, email and phone number. Details that do not match your documents are the most common cause of delay.

  2. 02

    Confirm contact details

Confirm your email address and, where requested, your phone number. This proves the contact channels belong to you.

  3. 03

    Upload your identity document

Submit the sections containing your photo and identifying information. Certain verification procedures include a brief identity confirmation or selfie verification to validate that the document holder is the account owner.

  4. 04

    Upload proof of address

Upload a recent qualifying document in your name at the address on file.

  5. 05

    Confirm the payment method

Provide proof of the instrument you will use to fund and to receive withdrawals.

  6. 06

    Screening and review

Our compliance team reviews the file, runs the required sanctions and risk screening, and either approves the account or asks for a correction.

  7. 07

    Confirmation

You receive a notification once the account status changes. The current status is always visible in the verification area of your account.

Your side

Your obligations

  • Give accurate, current and complete information, and keep it up to date.
  • Use only your own funds and your own payment instruments - never someone else's.
  • Maintain a single account and safeguard your login information.
  • Provide requested documents by the deadline indicated in our request.
  • Inform us without delay of any change in your place of residence, registered name, or payment source.
  • Alert us immediately if you suspect unauthorized account activity.

Providing fraudulent or modified documents constitutes a grave violation. This results in immediate account termination and notification to relevant authorities as mandated by law.

Troubleshooting

Why a check can be rejected

A rejection is usually a document problem, not a judgement about you. In most cases you can simply re-upload and the account is approved on the second attempt.

ReasonHow to fix it
Image blurred, cropped or glare-coveredRe-shoot in daylight, flat on a dark surface, all four corners visible.

Cardholder name or birth date differs from registered account informationCorrect the account details, or explain a legal name change with supporting proof.
Proof of address too old or not in your nameProvide a recent qualifying document issued to you at your registered address.

Should you find any decision unclear, reach out to our support team for clarification. We will disclose our reasoning where permitted by regulation.

Ongoing controls

Ongoing transaction monitoring

Verification represents an ongoing process. We continuously review accounts and transactions throughout the duration of our relationship.

What is monitored

We monitor funding sources, withdrawal patterns, payment method modifications, location changes, contact information updates, behavior inconsistent with your original profile information, and any alerts generated by our detection systems.

What can happen as a result

  • A request for refreshed documents or an explanation of the source of funds.
  • A temporary hold on a specific transaction while it is reviewed.
  • Adjustment of the limits published in your account.
  • Restriction or closure of the account where the law requires it.

Records

Personal identification documents and transaction information are kept for the duration mandated by law following account closure, and are managed according to our Privacy Policy. Under specific legal circumstances, we are prohibited from disclosing to clients that such a report has been submitted.

Rationale

Why verification is required

  1. 01

    Legal obligation

Services that hold or transmit client funds are generally required to identify their clients before providing the service. This is not optional and applies to every account without exception.

  2. 02

    Protecting your money

Verification ties an account to one identifiable owner. It makes account takeover far harder, and it means withdrawals can only be sent back to a payment method proven to belong to you.

  3. 03

    Keeping the platform clean

Screening keeps sanctioned parties and anonymous shell activity off the platform, which protects every other client using it.

  4. 04

    Faster payouts later

An account verified up front does not have to stop for checks at withdrawal time, which is when delays are least welcome.

Support

Where to ask questions

If anything on this page is unclear, or you want to know the exact status of your own verification, ask us before uploading again.

Who reviews my documents?

A trained compliance reviewer. Files are stored on restricted systems, and access is limited to staff who need it for the check.

Can I start before I am verified?

Account registration and exploration are available, however funding capabilities, trading access and withdrawal processing require successful verification as indicated in your account.

Do I have to verify again later?

It is possible. Document validity periods expire, residency addresses change, and periodic revalidation is standard AML procedure. We will notify you when resubmission is necessary.

How do I contact the compliance team?

Use the contact route on our contact page and mention "KYC" or "verification" in your message, together with the email address on your account. Please do not send document images by unsecured channels - upload them in the account area instead.

Licenses & regulatory information

Before you upload

Get verified once, cleanly

Approximately 90% of processing delays stem from three factors: inadequately clear photographs, outdated address documentation, and payment methods under a different name. Addressing these issues typically results in approval on initial submission.

Need help with a document?

Our support team can tell you exactly which file was rejected and why.

  • Before proceeding, review the verification section within your account.
  • Then contact support with your registered email address.
